Velvet, a word that recall images along the centuries. A portrait of a young man by Raphael in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence or portraits of elegant ladies of the eighteenth century with sumptuous attires. Sense memory will reawaken in some of us tactile sensations: the cheek of a child brushing the shoulder of a mother in the seventies, the embrace of her velvet Sunday dress a warm and comforting world.
The soft touch of velvet has never lost its strong appeal over the years. In the eighteenth century a new yarn called chenille was invented to help reach the same kind of sensation without using the special looms needed otherwise. The stings of our wallcovering are made of it, a special flat one. A digital printed pattern shows a subtle monochrome checked effect. The visual deepness in it will really remind you of velvet and under you fingertips you will definitely feel the peculiar touch you will be expecting.
